WORKING FROM PHOTOS

I work from
photographs of your pet.
Most helpful
are photos that clearly show the details of the pet and the preferred
pose. Please include several photos (if possible). They will
be returned.
Try to specify
which photo you prefer and whether you would like to feature
the face or the whole body. Sometimes people prefer the head
pose in one photo with the body pose in another. This can be
done if they are anatomically compatible.
Please provide
a description of the personality (example ; sweet, cuddly etc.),
the color of the eyes and fur, and anything that you feel is
important to familiarize me with the pet. Each one is so unique
and has it's own story.
Please be sure
to include your pet's name.
BACKGROUNDS
Plain or Fancy
Indicate whether
you would like the background to remain white or a pale tinted
shade of a favorite color (or a color that works with the colors
in the subject).
Perhaps you may
want to include a hint of the specific background
that is in the pet photo that you chose.
(example: the edge of a pillow or part of an outdoor scene).
Or I can draw
a custom background for you. A variety of possibilities
exist. *
* Multiple
pets in one picture or an especially intricate backgroud may
require an additional charge which we can discuss before beginning.
MATS & FRAMES
Each painting
is matted in a white acid free mat with a colored accent for
the double inner mat.
Frames are wood
and may vary in shades so please check with me to see what is
available at any given time.
I usually have frames in sizes 5x7, 8x10 and 11x14 available.
I also do other
sizes and there are different ways to include multiple pets (
example: with cut-outs in one mat ).
I would be happy
to discuss what would be best for you.
ROUGH SKETCH

Once the photos
are received and you have decided on a size,
I will make a rough pencil sketch for your approval. You can
indicate whether
or not that is what you had in mind.
I usually send the rough sketch as an e-mail attachment.
We can discuss any changes or details about the portrait via
e-mail or whatever
form of communication is convenient for you.
Then I will continue with my fine pens and watercolors
to capture the feeling of the special pet.
