November 1, 2007 ~ Thursday ~ pink sky in morning...overcast and gray during the day...
with the return of a pink sky in the evening!

Stepping out into the early morning the sky had a pink glow.

Looking through the apple tree branches,
the moon was still visible at 7:00 am.

Tonight about 5:45 I looked out to see a rainbow
in a grayish pink sky!

November 3, 2007 ~ Saturday... an overcast morning leads into an afternoon
with heavy rains and gusty winds... the remnants of Hurricane Noel

Dogs and people gather in groups for a social time on the beach just before the storm.

Ellie May hunkers down to spy on a chipmunk whose
cheeks are full of seeds as it runs towards her.
The rain and wind invigorates Ellie May.

Brody's been following me around and conversing with me
in his special way.

November 6, 2007 ~ Tuesday... a raw, dark, rainy day with a brilliant clearing in the
late afternoon

When I emerged from my studio around 4:30 pm.
I was struck by the beauty of an unexpected
glow in the sky.

November 7, 2007 ~ Wednesday... sun...bright and not too cold til mid-afternoon

November 8, 2007 ~ Thursday...sun in morning ... bright and very cold with clouds
moving in again in the afternoon....

The morning sun cast the shadow of the lace curtain
on the wall as Brody waits for me to make a move
to head upstairs with him.

Dave was working in the garden and
spotted a chubby, adorable nuthatch.
It must be a youngster for it was so
easy to get close to as I followed it
around the yard.

November 9, 2007 ~ Friday...overcast and raw but cozy inside

Polly is ready for a cozy afternoon nap!

Brody would prefer that the clean laundry remain
on the bed and never get folded and sorted
so that he can nest in it.

Ellie May is waiting for me on the old cot
so we can snuggle together.

Outside the clouds remain reminiscent of a
winter sky,

November 10, 2007 ~ Saturday...although it is sunny, it is bitter cold!

Brody tries out a new basket.

In the impending darkness, the trees
sillouette the sky.

This evening, Dave was shaking the
antique apple tree to collect more apples
before they are
destroyed by the bitter cold.
He has a secret admirer, following him as
he works in the yard.

November 14, 2007 ~ Wednesday... blue skies and almost 60 degrees

Was a good day for Dave to do repairs outside the house as
Polly sat on the couch wondering who was making the
racket outside.

Dave had a helper!

Polly is fascinated by the peacock feather within her reach....

November 15, 2007 ~ Thursday... an overcast gray dark day with sudden heavy rain showers
every now and then...

Late this afternoon, in between rain showers
I was so excited to go out in the garden and dig
for potatoes for supper.

To my surprise, the darling cat who is a frequent
visitor to our yard appeared right behind me.
We wonder if she ever goes to her "real" home
or if she is looking for another home.

November 16, 2007 ~ Friday... the rain stays around all day but towards
late afternoon the wind picks up furiously and brings in Artic air feeling like winter...

Looking out the window, the sky has a winter feeling.

I wish all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Madison and her Dad
are kindly giving me a ride on their way home so I can see my family in Connecticut.
I will probably be adding more to my journal at the end of the week, so stay tuned!

artist paint brush ©NCooperFunk
November 19-23, 2007 Monday through Friday was also spent in Connecticut.

I saw a cow in a tu-tu on Monday.

On Tuesday, it snowed!

Thursday was so warm, it was in the 60's.
On a walk I noticed this roof that had turned
yellow from fallen leaves.

My sister, Sharon made a delicious Thanksgiving dinner and
Sugar enjoyed it, too!

November 24, 2007 Saturday... sunny
We return to Maine....

Along the way home, we stopped in Concord to see Papa George
and his mystery cat, Oliver. No one in the family has ever met
Oliver for he is a very shy cat when it comes
to anyone new. We had thought he had disappeared
into hiding when he heard our footsteps entering the house.
I checked the bedroom and noticed the blankets had a
slight bulge.
I gently touched it and it felt solid....carefully,
I raised the blanket, nothing under the first layer, but when I
lifted the second layer, my eyes met Oliver for the very first time!

It was wonderful to see this heron on the way home.

While I was away, David had harvested the rest of the
potatoes and was very surprised to find one that
resembled a moose!

November 25, 2007 Sunday... sunny

The tide was especially high this morning.

In the evening, we went out to find the moon rising with
a beautiful orange glow.

November 26, 2007 Monday...rainy weather

At night, Brody has taken to leaping up to an alcove above the
bed nearly reaching the ceiling,
where he can look down upon us. Sometimes when we look
up, all we see are his white paws.

November 29, 2007 Thursday...a windy day spent inside working on art...

Another late night in the studio with my helper.
We're making some pins for the craft fair.

November 30, 2007 Friday...a sunny day ....

Complete chaos as I try to pack for the
Fair....somehow it all fits together in the
designated space when the time comes.
I am exhausted!
