~ Tuesday...sunny, hot and humid...by late afternoon the rain
comes down
furiously with some lightning to go with it.

The roses
are drenched after the heavy downpour...

~ Wednesday...sunny and very warm...

Spend the
day working in the studio with
my assistant, Ellie May, who manages to walk
around my very cluttered
work table without disturbing anything!
Her dainty little feet lightly step in between everything.

~ Thursday...sun and humid...80's...early evening the wind picks
up
with heavy rain and a double rainbow.... Happy Birthday, Lynda!

~ Friday...mostly sunny on this Independence Day Holiday...

These young
swallows are gaining their independence.

~ Saturday...sunny...blue skies and a bit humid!

Today is
the School Around Us Craft Fair on the Green in
Kennebunkport ....got up really early to set
up my display... met new people and saw friends from years
past from the days of our gallery in Kennebunkport.
The fair ended at 4:00 pm. and taking it down and packing up
seemed more stressful than setting it up! A full day!

July 6, 2008
~ Sunday...sunny again and humid...the fog rolls in at the beach
in the afternoon...

The yellow
flowers blooming by the sea are wild radishes.

July 7, 2008
~ Monday...another sunny and humid day...In the early eveing
we started to take a walk along Ocean Ave. and walked into a
couple who used to visit
our gallery and we hadn't seen them in about 8 years! They had
stopped by Kennebunkport
briefly on their travels.

I just finished
this painting of the killdeer we had seen
a week ago. The mother was taking her baby under her wing!

~ Tuesday...more of the same as far as the weather ..sunny, hot
and humid...

The beach
had a hazy lazy feeling to it as we briefly rode by
and took in a deep breath of sea air!

July 9, 2008
~ Wednesday...sunny, warm and humid..in the high 70's...
Early in the evening, the sky darkens to an incredible deep blue
and the heavy rains soon follow...

The rain
storm is approaching!

July 10,
2008 ~ Thursday...blue skies...not a cloud in the sky...

While glancing
through my studio window, I noticed this young robin
who landed along the path leading to the studio...
I think it might have been trying to cool off as it spread it's
wings
and rested for a while.

A quick evening walk along Gooch's Beach...pink streaks
across the sky and reflects in the wet sand...so calm.

July 11,
2008 ~ Friday... a mostly sunny day and comfortable...

I love to
watch cormorants drying their wings...they seem to be
dancing...

July 12,
2008 ~ Saturday...sunny with humidity sneaking back in...

We stopped
by Safe Haven's Thrift Shop and met the cats
ready for adoption. Here is Smudge, one of three sibling kitties
who
is hoping for a home. They are adorable!

July 13,
2008 ~ Sunday... a very beautiful day...very breezy and comfortable...
a dreamy day with rough seas...

By evening,
the tide is high and the waves are choppy with a
strong wind.

July 14,
2008 ~ Monday...a little of everything..clouds, drizzle sun and
clouds and humidity
It is a very special day...Happy Anniversary to my Mom &
Dad!

This chipmunk
lives in a doghouse!

July 15,
2008 ~ Tuesday...sunny and a bit less humid...comfortable in
the shade...

Dave planted
squash, pole beans and amaranth today.
Somewhat late but hopefully they will provide food!

Met Piper today...who was waiting patiently
outside the screen door for dinner time
to arrive.

July 16,
2008 ~ Wednesday... sunny and on the warm side...the humidty
rises towards evening.

A friend
gave us a Night Blooming Cereus and
the blossom began opeing this afternoon.
Between 8 & 9 pm. it really bloomed with the
almost full moon.
The frangrance was overpowering!

July 17,
2008 ~ Thursday... It is very humid and hot today...the evening
feels much
cooler we take a walk on the beach... the sky and sea look very
soft....pale blue and a hint of pink...
We turn to walk back the sun has set and I turn around and to
our surprise the moon has appeared.

The full moon
is so beautiful tonight.


July 18,
2008 ~ Friday...a very hot and humid day...the afternoon brings
a big thunderstorm...
one could hear the rain and wind traveling towards our house
through the forest...

The rains
came fast and furious...notice in the upper left is the
closed up blossom of the Night Blooming Cereus...

Around 8 pm. I thought the storm was over
but these clouds brought more rain...
I must say the air outside feels cooler.

July 19,
2008 ~ Saturday... it's a very humid and hot day...around 4 pm.
a very close
thunderstorm arrives...the lightning is bouncing all around our
home...
yesterday's storm brought down a tree lilmb on a neighbors' roof.

Dave goes
out to work in the vegetable garden after the storm.

As the sun sets the sky turns pinkish and is
reflected in the rain puddles.

July 20,
2008 ~ Sunday... very humid heavy air today...go out early...

The marsh
looks so beautiful...the plants that grow naturally
and the habitat they create for the birds is exquisite.

July 21,
2008 ~ Monday...it's overcast and cooler but very humid...

The lilies
are blooming in our garden..Dave has collected
them over the years and many were birthday gifts.
I love wandering through the garden and each one is
a surpirse...

2008 ~ Tuesday...a beautiful day...less humid with a wonderful
breeze

We were very
fortunate to be given tickets for the
Ogunquit Playhouse tonight...it was a beautiful evening and
we very much enjoyed the fabulous production of "The Producers".
Thank you so much to the one who gave us his tickets!

2008 ~ Wednesday...overcast with showers in the afternoon and
evening

2008 ~ Thursday...Heavy rain first thing this morning sets the
tone for the day...
it does let up but returns into the late night...the brook sounds
like a roaring ocean tonight.
It was very bad in New Hampshire today...tornadoes struck in
9 locations including Wolfboro.

Though it
is stormy and gray outside, Polly shines within and
it appears that she is smiling...

July 25,
2008 ~ Friday...sunny with blue skies

Polly looked
especially content when I came in the house
this afternoon...she was all snuggled in one of her many
baskets.

The lilies are dotted throughout the
garden and I just love them....

July 26,
2008 ~ Saturday...blue skies...clear and quite warm but breezy
in the afternoon...

I filled
the window boxes at the studio with shells instead
of planting flowers in them this year. These beautiful
pansies were a surprise growing right through the shells!

July 27,
2008 ~ Sunday...sunny and on the humid side...around 5 pm. the
skies darken
and a big thunderstorm strikes all around us.

This adorable
dog was enjoying an outdoor
cafe this afternoon and was actually
sitting on the lap of a child.

July 28,
2008 ~ Monday...sunny hot and humid

This evening
the tide was very high...it actually reached the seawall
as we walked to the other end of the beach.

July 29,
2008 ~ Tuesday...another sunny humid day..working on my exhibit
all day...

By evening,
I need an walk...here we are with
our long shadows!

July 30,
2008 ~ Wednesday...clear and as the day goes on the humidity
rises...
