July 14,
2007 ~ Saturday ~ sun and clouds...a beautiful day and a special
day for a
wedding took place on this day in 1944 in Maine.
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad with love!

July 15,
2007 ~ Sunday ~the afternoon turns dark with frequent downpours
of rain and thunder...
went to a family bon voyage party in Saco....We returned to a
dark house for the storms
had knocked out the electricity while we were gone so we decided
to take a ride by the beach.

The sky and
the sea had turned pink after the
storm as the sun was setting.
When we went home our lights had returned!

July 16,
2007 ~ Monday ~ sunny and quite warm....no sign of rain today!

A scenic
ride after a great lunch with Papa George
and Dave, leads us to Turbat's Creek. It feels like
the perfect lazy summer day.

July 17,
2007 ~ Tuesday ~ sun and clouds

Dave called
me over in the garden this
morning to point out how beautiful the
beebalm looked in the dapple light.

July 18,
2007 ~ Wednesday ~ overcast and drizzle..... a good day for naps

As I walked
past my basket of socks this afternoon
I noticed several socks lying on the floor, while
all of the remaining socks in the basket were
covered by a big orange cat!
Brody's never done this before and
as he was walking by he must have thought,
"Hmmm... I'm so tired and that looks comfy,
I can make myself fit in there!"
and so he did!

July 19,
2007 ~ Thursday ~ cloudy, humid and rainy by afternoon

A ton of
clean, warm laundry has been
placed on the bed for sorting later on so in the meantime
Brody can be in his glory!

July 20,
2007 ~ Friday ~ a cloudy humid start to the day....sun appears
in the afternoon

Wandering
around the garden leads me the entrance of
the shady path where hosta and harebells live.

July 21,
2007 ~ Saturday ~ a beautiful day of sun and clouds and some
breezes

Started the
day with a walk on Gooch's Beach and
appreciated the coolness.

Two young
mourning doves stayed close together and
could be seen near the overturned flower pots.

I packed a picnic for dinner and we headed for
Goose Rocks. At the water's edge, I saw a friend whose
children were enjoying an early evening swim.

While we were talking the sunset
turned the sky and the sea pink.

July 22,
2007 ~ Sunday ~ blue skies

David was
moving lillies from shady spots
in the yard to partial sunny spots for when
they were planted years ago, they were
in partial sun but things have a way
of growing up around you.

Brody hopped into the basket behind my
computer desk and looked so adorable.
I just can't resist taking many
photos of him.

July 23,
2007 ~ Monday ~ overcast..cool.... drizzle and rain

Enjoyed lunch
in Cape Porpoise with friends I met in
our gallery years ago who are vacationing here from
New York State. The rain and mist added a soft
quality to the scenery as we drove around taking in
the scenic views.

July 24,
2007 ~ Tuesday ~ blue skies

We happened
to ride to Cape Porpoise at low tide
which made one think you could almost
( but not quite) walk out to
Goat Island Lighthouse.

The lilies are blooming everywhere in the garden...
it is so delightful...and the colors are delicious
to one's vision... they are gems!
Dave has been collecting them for over 25 years...
they have been given as birthday gifts that
multiply as the years go by.

July 25,
2007 ~ Wednesday ~ blue sky and very warm

Stopped with
Dave at a garden center and
while he looked at plants, I wandered over
to the tiny pond and saw one lily pad
flower and a tiny frog!

July 26,
2007 ~ Thursday ~ another sunny hot day with a beautiful moon
tonight

Spent the
day wandering through the garden with my camera
trying to capture the enchanting feeling of being in it.
Worked on other sections of this website.
Here's David's Garden page.

July 27,
2007 ~ Friday ~ sunny with heat and humidity

Dave harvested
beautiful garlic from
our garden...very exciting!
Worked on a house portrait
commission today.

Dave and I rode through
Cape Porpoise in the late afternoon.
Saw a dog heading out to sea in a boat.

The full
moon shone on the sea
as we rode by to catch a cool breeze.
Heading down Ocean Av. near St. Ann's
we saw a fox in the moonlight
scurrying along the rocks.

July 28,
2007 ~ Saturday ~ sun in the morning with heat and humidity and
the sky darkens
in the afternoon with a thunderstorm

Today Ellie
May is helping with the house drawing.
She's sitting on me to make sure I stay put and
focus on the drawing.

She occasionally looks up at me,
just to make sure!
