~ Sunday... sun and clouds...
Happy Birthday to my brother, Rick!

On the way
home from Bennington Vermont,
my father-in-law surprised us and stopped in
Shelburne Falls. We were totally amazed at the
Bridge of Flowers...a footbridge that has the most
beautiful garden on both sides of the bridge.

You enter the Bridge of Flowers here.

It is a war memorial...

June 2, 2008
~ Monday...a warm day

The lilacs
are in full bloom in our yard...the air is full of
their fragrance...we have 11 different lilacs...

A mist lingered
over the beach in the evening as the sun set.

June 3, 2008
~ Tuesday...sun and clouds

To my surprise,
this tiny painted turtle was on our
front path this morning...

In the garden, the
mullen is blooming,
irises are opening....

At the beach
in the evening, the sea was a
soft blue green and the clouds were
wonderful shades of blue.

June 4, 2008
~ Wednesday...overcast and rain and drizzle

A discovery,
at first I saw the long tentacles...
and then realized they belonged to potatoes
in a colander ...we had put the potatoes
in a cool dark closet so they would last and
we forgot about them. They came from our
vegetable garden last fall and Dave will plant
them in the vegetable garden once again!

June 5, 2008
~ Thursday...overcast and cool...late afternoon brought some
friends to our home and
among them was Karma and her niece, Jaina from Canada.

~ Friday...heavy rain and fog as we travel to Connecticut for
our
niece's Wedding on Saturday.
We had planned to leave early but were delayed for our cat, Polly
had a cut on her leg that
appeared to be infected. It was inflicted by Brody and we were
not quite sure when it occured
so we took an emergency trip to the Vet before leaving.
PS. Our wonderful friend, Lynda saved the day
and weekend by bravely and confidently adminisitering the anitibiotic
twice a day while we were away
and she is continuing to do it now that we are back.
We know we are terrible about giving medication to our pets.
Polly growls and hisses but Lynda has
a technique for getting it in her. We are so very thankful!

Traveling
over the Portsmouth Bridge on our way to Connecticut in the fog
and rain.

June 7, 2008
~ Saturday... sunny and very hot and humid ... in the high 90's
in Connecticut...
We went to a beautiful wedding in New Hartford at Ski Sundown
for our niece, Rose and Dustin.

Jet and Gus's
parents, Rose and Dustin are
getting married today at 5'oclock.
( I painted Jet and Gus for Rose and Dustin
as a memory of their wedding)

Rose and
Dustin's Wedding Cake!

It was very hot and humid and Rose got a bit
of relief from the heat with a fan!

June 8, 2008
~ Sunday...the heat wave continues...and it is even hotter...highs
in the 90's.

My brother,
Rick and brother-in-law, Mike
came over to my parents house to install
3 airconditioners and it was just in time.
In the midst of their work, a big thuderstorm
hit and we all waited it our in the livingroom.

Later on the the afternoon, our nephew, Tyler created 2
wonderful paintings!

June 9, 2008
~ Monday... sunny and very hot and humid once again...seems like
it is 100º
We return to Maine where it is also very muggy and hot but a
bit cooler and it cools down in
the evening.

Before we
left my parent's house, I was surprised to see
this flicker right outside the front door.

June 10,
2008 ~ Tuesday...sunny and hot but a sea breeze saves us and
by
evening a chilly wind picked up and I felt the need of a jacket!
A thunderstorm late at night cleared the air.

I took out
the old push lawnmower and just mowed a tiny overgrown
patch around the studio before the heat got to me.

June 11,
2008 ~ Wednesday... sunny again and though it starts out much
cooler
it still feels quite hot to me!

I just finished
this painting of eider ducks...
we've enjoyed watching the mother eiders and
their young in the sea.

June 12,
2008 ~ Thursday...sunny...blue skies...sparkling clear...

Brody sat
on my traveling bag this morning...I'm not going
anywhere and he just wants to make sure!
I'm just really slow at unpacking!

It was cool enough this morning that I rode my bike to the Post
Office
and was touched by the sight of this Jack Russell waiting for
his
Person to return!

This afternoon we managed to ride by the beach...the sea was
such a deep
shade of blue with green...

June 15,
2008 ~Sunday...a heavy rain falls in the early morning hours
and into the day...
the rest of the day is gray and a good day to try to get things
accomplished...
Happy Father's Day!

This dove
couple has been busy all day...they are in the top
of a trellis near our front door...either they are building a
nest
or they have babies!

June 16,
2008 ~Monday...rainy and mostly gray and cool and damp...

This darling
tiny dog caught our eye as it waited in a large
car for someone familiar near the beach.

June 17,
2008 ~Tuesday...sun and thunderstorm

Mother and
child... in our trellis

In the early evening, we had a thunderstorm and then the sun
appeared with
a rainbow.

June 18,
2008 ~Wednesday...sunny with clear blue skies and white thunderheads...low
humidity
makes it a very comfortable day...

I am constantly
amazed at the garden..it feels enchanted..

June 19,
2008 ~Thursday...it's another sunny day with blue and cloudless
skies... and
comfortable temperatures....

A surprise
this morning, here is "Kitty" ...she is from
Pennsylvania and stopped by to visit while on
vacation with her Mom and Dad who used to visit
my gallery on Ocean Avenue when on vacation.
They knew Ellie May when she lived in that gallery
and we share a funny story about Ellie May and their other
dog, Sydney.
It turned out to be confusing for them to locate me
and they ended up driving around and around
for days but their persistence finally led them to us...
Was so happy to meet their new dog,Kitty, who
is very beautiful and sweet and enjoying Maine for the
first time!

Dave's Garden
Bed!

June 20,
2008 ~ Friday...a sunny start to the Summer Solstice ...then
some clouds and fog...

June 21,
2008 ~ Saturday...sunny and very lovely

The beauty
bush was in it's full glory...

Very well hidden in a trellis that Dave had made are 2
baby mourning doves...

June 22,
2008 ~ Sunday...a bit of everything as far as the weather....fog,
sun, rain and thunder ...
This morning
the nest was empty and the baby mourning doves are no where to
be seen.
I hope they are safe!

This baby
woodchuck and I met and
we both froze!

June 23,
2008 ~ Monday...gray heavy air...the rain arrives in the afternoon
with some distant thunder...

Again, Brody
has climbed onto the computer bag...he
seeks it out now.

June 24,

We sat in the car in the rain and fog and lightning
eating Clam Shack French Fries for dinner.
